Lifestyle Support Worker - Brisbane North

Synapse promotes quality of life, self-determination and choice, and  provides a range of services for people impacted by brain injury and disability, including information and referral, specialist supports, NDIS services, advocacy, housing, training and education, and targeted research activities. About the role:

We are looking for people to join our growing team that are committed to the best outcomes for people impacted by brain injury and disability.  We promote self-determination and choice through information and specialist services.  Your experience and knowledge of how to support people to strengthen their skills, build confidence and stay connected to their community are the most important skills for this role.


As this is a casual role, hours will vary but we currently anticipate being able to offer 40 to 76 hours per fortnight.


About you:

You are ideal for this role if you have:

  • An understanding of the issues that impact on people impacted by brain injury;
  • Demonstrated capacity to relate to people with a disability and their families;
  • The ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with people in distress;
  • The ability to work with individuals and link them in with other community resources and services that promote choice and self-determination;
  • The ability to work as part of a strong team in the provision of support to people with disability;
  • Availability to work across a range of morning, afternoon and overnight shifts including weekends
  • Level 1 First Aid and CPR Certificates (or the willingness to obtain);
  • Satisfactory Yellow Card (or positive exemption notice) issued by the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors
