Welcome to the Brain Injury Association of Tasmania (BIAT) special Film Screening of Larapinta: End to End for National Brain Injury Awareness Week.
Larapinta: End to End follows a team of Tasmanians with disabilities as they journey across Australia’s harsh terrain over 17 days. Through the concept of ‘The Dignity of Risk,’ the film explores how people with disabilities are often infantilised and marginalised, and how taking risks—financial, emotional, or physical—is a basic human right.
The documentary will weave together personal stories, interviews, archival footage, and the history of disability rights, showcasing the ongoing fight for inclusion. As the team tackles the Larapinta Trail, they embrace both triumphs and challenges, celebrating the strength of the human spirit.
This event is free, however, if all attendees could please register using Eventbrite as the venue has limited space.
