Teaching bio – Lizzie
Lizzie has been a certified yoga instructor since 2012, inspired by the benefits yoga brought to her own journey with epilepsy and living many years post-brain injury. Her passion for helping others manage their health through yoga has grown ever since.
In 2021, she began volunteering as a yoga instructor at the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (BIRU), where she continues to teach a weekly class. Witnessing the positive impact yoga had on participants at BIRU sparked a deeper commitment to this work. In 2024, she expanded her expertise by completing the Love Your Brain Yoga Teacher Training, a program specifically designed to support people with brain injury and concussion through accessible yoga and meditation. She uses a person-centred approach to modify her classes to meet the needs of everyone in the room. Lizzie believes in the transformative power of yoga for people with brain injury, whether they are in the early stages of recovery or navigating life years after their injury.
