Dr Darryl Bassett, MB, BS, BSc, FRANZCP, Dip. Psychotherapy, Psychiatrist in full time private practice. Dr Bassett’s particularly interests at the moment are Bipolar Affective Disorders and the psychiatric complications of physical illness. His current intellectual interests are in psychopharmacology and the neurobiology of mental illness. Otherwise Dr Bassett sees a wide range of clinical problems, and previously was heavily involved in intensive psychiatric care, running a private Intensive Care Unit in Adelaide, and was also involved in community psychiatry, public general hospital psychiatry and did sessional work in a large mental hospital. Dr Bassett has been in private practice for twenty-five years, the last seven and a half years in Perth, and before in Adelaide. He is originally from Queensland and graduated in medicine and science there. Dr Bassett was awarded the Madison Medal when he sat for his RANZCP exams and was Research Fellow in Psychiatry for two years.
