BIAW 2023 wrap-up
We’re so happy to have championed another Brain Injury Awareness Week to raise awareness of brain injury and its impact across Australia. This year, we explored the theme of ‘Brain Injury is More Than…’ which showcased how people think, feel, and see brain injury. Thank you to each person and company who came along side Synapse to share and highlight the week.
Week highlights
- 19 landmarks lit up purple & yellow in support
- Six stories of those living with a brain injury told
- Thousands of people reached across events and social media
A big thank you to Brisbane City Council, Main Roads WA, Townsville City Council, City of Perth and The Big Banana for lighting up their landmarks and supporting Brain Injury Awareness Week 2023.
Personal stories
This year six amazing people told Synapse their stories living with a brain injury. These stories are so important not only during Brain Injury Awareness Week but for anyone who wants to understand more about how individualised and unique the journey of living with a brain injury can be.
Next steps
Synapse is excited to expand on all the successes of Brain Injury Awareness Week to see more support achieved for Australian’s impacted by brain injury. Our goals now are to keep raising awareness and education about brain injury to see people rethink brain injury and change society.
